Conversion option 1: For the same price as a regular Massage you may integrate the following therapeutic techniques into your session:

          Manual lymphatic drainage (MLD)

Type of massage  performed to encourage the natural drainage of the lymph, which carries waste products away from the tissues back toward the heart. The lymph system depends on intrinsic contractions of the smooth muscle cells in the walls of lymph vessels (peristalsis) and the movement of skeletal muscles to propel lymph through the vessels to lymph nodes and then to the lymph ducts which return lymph to the cardiovascular system. Manual lymph drainage uses a specific amount of pressure (less than 9 ounces per square inch or about 4 kPa) and rhythmic circular movements to stimulate lymph flow.

Facial Massage

Massage is a mandatory procedure for skin care face and body. Using some techniques it is possible to treat various skin diseases, with the help of others to rejuvenate the skin, improve its condition, smooth out the wrinkles. Using myofascial massage eliminates deformation of the connective tissue of the body, give it the form and allow free movement. The effects of massage can be noticed after conducting 2-3 procedures. Massage can get rid of muscle spasms and tension, wrinkles on the forehead, at the corners of the eyes, smooth nasolabial triangle. In this case, normal operation of the nervous system, improves blood circulation with the addition of oxygen and nutrients to the brain, normal heart rhythm and breathing, there is a persistent glow and fresh look of the face and body.

Pelvic Floor Release

Pelvic Floor Muscles respond well to therapy. Childbirth, life long constipation, trauma, injury, abdominal surgeries, among other things, can contribute to weakened pelvic floor muscles. Damage to the pelvic floor contributes to urinary incontinence and can lead to pelvic organ prolapse. Prolapse occurs in women when pelvic organs (bladder, rectum, vagina or uterus) protrude into or outside of the vagina. Pelvic Floor Massage can strengthen and tone pelvic floor muscles. This can create a stronger and stable pelvic floor, release tight and sore areas in and around the pelvic region and facilitate blood flow in ischemic areas and allow the body to reorganize around the work. The body wants to be in alignment to work correctly and damaged soft tissue can be retrained with massage. I only focus on the external areas, if you require internal work I can give you instructions on how to perform self massage in the privacy of your own home.

Insomnia Massage

This type of massage is dedicated to those who suffer from conditions like insomnia or restless leg syndrome(RLS). This particular massage modality takes place at bedtime, I will massage you until  you fall asleep for the night so there needs to be a pre-arranged plan for the therapist to leave your home without waking you up. This can be coordinated with another family member or some other method.

Sports massage

Sports massage is different than the clinical or relaxation massage you might be used to receiving at the Spa or chiropractors office. Sports massage is usually performed on a client dressed in loose clothing and involves applying therapeutic massage and stretching to assist an athlete’s performance or speed recovery from an activity. The type of sports massage you receive is based on your goal and when you get your massage in relation to the event.

  • Pre-Event massage is usually 10-30 minutes long and generally happens the day of and prior to the event. The focus is on preparation for high-intensity activity not to correct dysfunction or reduce stress. Therapists will use compression, kneading, ROM & active stretching, vibration and tapotement–all performed at an “up-tempo” pace. Remember, the goal is get the athlete AMPED UP.
  • Inter-Event massage can happen between events happening on the same day. Similar to pre-event massage, it’s fast-paced and typically no more than 10 minutes.
  • Post-Event massage happens after the event, usually within 72 hours. It’s focused on recovery, increasing circulation, reducing muscle tension and overall calming the athlete. Therapists use effleurage (stroking), petrissage (kneading), broadening compression, joint mobilization, and assisted stretching. No deep tissue work, muscles need to recover more before that happens. Sessions are usually 30-45 minutes plus assessment & aftercare counseling.
  • Maintenance massage is a regular clinical massage and happens during the training program. It’s typically 60-90 minutes focused on paying attention to rehabilitation and/or chronic issues, like that frozen shoulder or crazy sore calves. It’s an opportunity to deal with both biomechanical issues and overload (or training errors). This is where deep-tissue & targeted Swedish massage, stretches, friction and trigger point work are appropriate.

Conversion option 3:  Pay What you want services (PWYW Services):

Complete Massage Add-on  (PWYW Services)

Make your Swedish massage a complete massage instead.

A complete massage is a full body massage, but not limited to strict draping and every part of your body may be worked on completely. The client has the option of receiving a treatment loosely draped or even nude depending on their comfort level. With most massage sessions there is a higher emphasis on “draping” and “towel techniques,” whereby the client almost becomes lost in the process and the practitioner’s attention becomes more about the lay of the sheet, not the comfort of the client. Receiving a massage loosely draped also facilitates greater relaxation since it enables us to relax fully and not be distracted by the therapist continually re-positioning the drape. Take away these distractions and you remove any barriers to the mind’s ability to free flow and it becomes much more of a natural, fluid process. Additionally it allows more convenient access to areas around the breasts and inner thigh which are traditionally skipped because of strict draping requirements. Women’s bodies especially are neglected by today’s Massage Therapists because it is so taboo to massage around a woman’s breasts or near the groin, these are both areas of major lymph nodes, large muscle groups, emotional storage, and chakras.  The University of Berkeley discovered that breast massage not only prevents breast cancer but can reverse cancer growth.  http://news.berkeley.edu/2012/12/17/malignant-breast-cells-grow-normally-when-compressed/. In Europe and Asia it is accepted and natural to work on the breast and around the groin.  After all they are only body parts that need just as much circulation and stimulation as any other part of the body, sometimes even more so. It can consist of only Swedish relaxation techniques or it can also include some deep tissue, sexual dysfunction and pelvic release techniques depending on your goals. So if you are wanting a complete full body massage integrating the entire mind, body and spirit without unnatural limitations and inhibitions then you will rejoice with my Complete Massage session.
